In this post, I’ll show you how to draw a hedgehog. It won’t be a difficult drawing, although if you’ve never drawn anything it can prove to be a challenge. However, without a challenge, there is no effect, so if you want to learn to draw, you need to practice. Just in case, I always advise you to draw a hedgehog with a pencil first, so that you can erase mistakes if necessary. Also, prepare yourself a beige pencil and various shades of brown. At the very end, you can color your drawing with crayons.
If you liked drawing forest animals, I also invite you to the post on how to draw a bird and how to draw a squirrel.
How to draw a hedgehog? – instruction
As I mentioned before, here you will learn how to draw a hedgehog. Follow me step by step. On each subsequent picture, we add new elements. To make your work easier, I will mark the things I draw in red. This way, it will be easier for you to follow the progress of drawing a baby hedgehog step by step.
Time needed: 10 minutes
To complete this task you will need – a piece of paper, a pencil, an eraser, crayons and a smile on your face. If you’re ready, let’s begin!
- Drawing a hedgehog – step one
We’ll start with something simple. First, draw an arc in the center of the sheet. This will be the back of a hedgehog.
- How to draw a hedgehog face
The next step is to draw the little ears, snout and nose of the hedgehog. You can color the nose completely black, leaving a small white spot.
- Hedgehog – drawing the face and eyes
Now it’s time to draw eyes and a mouth for the hedgehog. Same principle with eyelets as with the toe. Color them black, but leave a small white spot in each.
- How to draw a hedgehog spines
We draw hedgehog spikes between the ears and on the back. We draw the whole thing in a zigzag. We can now erase the previous spine line.
- Hedgehog paws
Now we will learn how to draw a hedgehog’s feet. Draw two vertical lines slightly apart from each other. It will be one paw. Do the same with the other paw. Then connect the other paw with a line to the rear paw. The rear paw is made of three small rollers – only the fingers are visible.
- Drawing a hedgehog
The only thing left for us to do is to draw the toes on the front paws. We draw them in the same way as the fingers of the hind paw – three rollers for each paw. At the very end, we mark more spikes in the middle of the hedgehog’s body with zigzag lines.
- Hedgehog coloring book
The drawing is now finished. It’s time for crayons and coloring the drawing.
- Ready drawing of a hedgehog
The color drawing of the hedgehog looks really nice. And you’ve just learned how to draw a hedgehog. Way to go!
